Avro Lancaster

Avro Lancaster
A.V. Roe and Company, one of the great British Aircraft Manufacturing firms, was founded in 1910 by the famous aviation pioneer Alliott Verdon Roe. Over the next fifty-three years the company produced a multitude of machines including such types as the 504 trainer, the Lancaster bomber and the impressive delta-wing Vulcan. The Lancaster became the most famous of these aircraft in World War II, and was the only bomber capable of carrying the famous "Tallboy" bomb which weighed 13,000 lbs.
