B-25 Mitchell

B-25 Mitchell
Although the B-25 Mitchell saw action in most theatres of World War II, the Doolittle Tokyo raid was perhaps the most famous exploit of this airplane. It was carried out on April 18, 1942 from the USS Hornet in an attempt to shore up morale on the home front during the early months of 1942, which had sagged as a result of a number of defeats in the Pacific.
